The system&#039;s differential pumping is maintained through an opening in a silicon slab, which isolates the user&#039;s vacuum system from the higher pressures required for high-density 2D MOT operation. The CASC is based on the proven design used in ColdQuanta&#039;s RuBECi and doubleMOT dual-chamber ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems.
