The magneto-optical trap of ColdQuanta was developed for research groups working on cold atoms. This makes it easy to generate ultra-cold atoms without having to go into the necessary high-vacuum technology. The miniMOT™ The system consists of the high-vacuum cell, the source of Ru atoms and an ion pump, all in a compact, optically accessible structure at moderate costs. Cold trapped atoms can be produced at 50 µK.
Additionally offers ColdQuanta a kit which contains the miniMOT with coils on a breadboard, optics for adjusting the trap, an integrated coil driver and a CCD camera for observing the MOT. The miniMOT™ kit enables easy production of an MOT without extensive in-house development.
The arrangement is preset for easy operation but can also be easily modified, beam splitting and beam shaping are simplified. In addition, the user needs two lasers with coupling optics.
