MOT Source Cell

The CASC is the heart of a high-flux nuclear delivery system. The system's differential pumping is maintained through an opening in a silicon slab, which isolates the user's vacuum system from the higher pressures required for high-density 2D MOT operation. The CASC is based on the proven design used in ColdQuanta's RuBECi and doubleMOT dual-chamber ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems. Flows of several billion atoms per second can be achieved with rubidium or cesium.
