The tunable ones LaserTune Quantum cascade laser (QCL) from block engineering are now available in different variants with tuning ranges of 250, 500, 750 and 1000 cm-1 selectable in a total range of 5.3 - 13 µm. Many molecular vibrations can be selectively excited in this wavelength region. Even with an average power of up to 20 mW and a correspondingly high spectral power density, these lasers are still eye-safe. Some example laser configurations are specified below.
The QCLs are controlled via a PC via USB port. They are supplied with software and can also be operated via LabView.
